Initiative 03
- Upgrading the health status of AGs by Enhancing their knowledge
Adolescence is recognised as the most conflict phase of life in terms of health, career and one’s place in life. The concerns become more marked in case of girls as they have to cope with onset of menarche. Although menstruation is a natural process, it is linked with several perceptions and practices within the community, which sometimes result in adverse health outcomes.
In spite of increased attempts there is still significant lack of information on proper hygiene and sanitation practices during menstruation. Therefore, equipping Adolescent Girls with required information on menstrual hygiene and its management will empower them to augment both their self-esteem and academic performance.
Besides menstrual hygiene, specific training on nutrition and healthy food is being organised at the grass root level.
